FRENCHTOWN

So much within walking distance of Olga’s Fancy!

Fine dining, nightlife, brightly colored buildings, and equally colorful residents are perhaps what our little village is best known for. Frenchtown is home to one of the smallest ethnic groups in the Virgin Islands. Lovingly known as “Frenchies”, the inhabitants of Frenchtown are the descendants of the French Huguenots, who founded this small fishing village in the mid-19th century after immigrating from St. Barts. Today, you will still hear a mix of West Indian Creole and 18th century Breton French in the local dialect. Make sure to feast upon French pastries and local seafood caught daily by our local fisherman, relive history at the French Heritage Museum, and toast to your good fortune at Frenchtown’s own craft beer brewery.

Bienvenue à Frenchtown!
